Morson Group is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted in two categories at the British HR Awards 2026: People Team of the Year (1,001–2,500 employees) and Early Careers Initiative of the Year.
This year’s awards received a record 474 entries from organisations across the UK, making the competition particularly strong. According to the judges, being named a finalist is “truly exceptional”.
Now in its fifth year, the British HR Awards celebrates individuals, teams and organisations delivering outstanding people experiences. Powered by the people insight platform New Possible, the awards recognise innovation and impact across HR and people leadership. Entrants this year ranged from start-up pioneers and not-for-profits to global organisations and fast-growing tech companies.
People Team of the Year (1,001-2,500 employees)
Over the past 12 months, Morson Group’s People Team has played a central role in supporting significant organisational change.
The business has experienced rapid growth through acquisitions and TUPE transfers, increasing headcount by 13.8%, alongside continued organic expansion. At the same time, the Group completed a major strategic rebrand, transitioning the organisation into four distinct businesses.
This transformation required updates to contractual terms, further TUPE considerations and a carefully managed transition for colleagues and leaders across the business.
The People Team developed and delivered a structured integration and rebrand framework that balanced speed, compliance and employee experience. The goal was clear: maintain operational stability while creating a consistent, people-centred experience across the organisation.
By taking a coordinated and proactive approach, the team ensured clarity for employees, reduced risk during a period of change and supported strong engagement across the workforce.
Early Careers Initiative
Morson Group’s Early Careers programme was also recognised as a finalist for its innovative approach to developing future talent.
A key part of the programme is the Year 10 work experience initiative, designed and delivered by the Group’s graduate cohort. Graduates take responsibility for building the programme, developing their leadership and project management skills while creating meaningful experiences for students.
The initiative helps create a pipeline of future talent while giving graduates the opportunity to shape and lead a real business project.
Alongside this, graduates rotate through different departments as part of a structured development programme. A dedicated feedback framework captures learning and development insights throughout these rotations, ensuring on-the-job learning and development opportunities remain closely aligned.
The result is a programme that supports both the growth of early careers talent and the development of the next generation of leaders within the business.
Industry recognition
Nate Harwood, Founder of New Possible and the British HR Awards said:
“As the world changes at pace, organisations are increasingly having to learn, adapt and innovate. The British HR Awards celebrates the people, teams and leaders who make that possible. Congratulations to all the Finalists.”
Winners will be announced at a celebration event at the Grand Hall of the Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden, London, on Wednesday 22 April.
We’re looking forward to joining fellow finalists for an evening of networking, celebration and recognition of the people shaping the future of work.
