Gerry Mason had the courage to dream big.
Gerry Mason, the father of current CEO Ged Mason, founded J Morson & Co Ltd in 1969 in on office under the stairs of his family home in Eccles, Salford.
A mechanical design draughtsman by trade, Salford-born Gerry placed his first contractor, a structural engineer, to ICI Runcorn, Cheshire. Over the next 4 decades Gerry scaled the business providing skilled workers across diverse industries, increasing head count, moving office premises, conquering new markets and developing new solutions until 1999 when son Ged took over the running of Morson.
“When I founded Morson I never set any targets, just the burning ambition to be the best in our sector, trusting that passion and ambition, coupled with integrity, would be the driving force for success” – Gerry Mason
